Good bye Beaver Creek

Sep. 3, 2019

My apologies for being so complacent during the 2 months we were at Beaver Creek and not posting till now.

We had a good kayak season and it will be our last.  We lead kayak tours on Beaver Creek for the last 3 summers and now it's time to experience a different summer destination next year.

Our last trip was teriffic.  Berry (a former kayak guide at Beaver Creek and local wildlife biologist) and Charlse (one of the on coming welcome center hosts) joined us along with the regular customers.  Joan and I tried out the new kayaks that will be replacing  the current fleet next year.  Every one had a great time, making for a memorable final tour.

One last interpretative talk.

We spent an extra day at Beaver Creek before moving on to our next destination.

One last inspection of the Beaver Creek camp site before pulling out.

Overnight stop at Ainsworth State Park in the Colombia Gorge.

Driving I-84 through the Colombia Gorge.

Our destination was Colombia Sun RV Resort in Kennewick WA. We stopped here to visit Doug and Rose, friends we met during our first volenteer job for Oregon State Parks in Bandon OR 4 years ago.  They just joined the ranks of the full time RVers.

More to come...
