On the road again, Red Rock country near Sedona AZ

Greetings from southern Arizona. Except for April 2020 in Silver City NM, we've been here since February 1, 2020. All things considered it's been a good year, spending most of that time in Cave Creek Canyon, Portal AZ.

We've been fully vaccinated (back in February) and now we're on the road again. June 1st we'll arrive in Newport OR to spend the summer volunteering at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area (link). We volunteered there back in 2016 and really enjoyed it.

We have a month to get to Oregon and we'll be making a few stops along the way. After leaving Portal, we spent a few days in Tucson to stock up. The next stop was Krazy-K RV Park in Camp Verde AZ, about 20 mi. South of Sedona.

Our first outing was a day at Red Rock State Park. Here's some pics...

Next we continued along US 89A into Sedona then leaving on US 179 back toward I-17 and home. As expected Sedona was kind of touristy (about like Moab UT) but the views from the road were pretty specaticular.

The hills around Sedona are riddled with trails of all kinds.

Coming next, Montezuma Castle.
