2019 Paddle Season Starts

June 28, 2019

Kayakers at the mouth of Beaver Creek as it flows over the sand bar into the Pacific.

Joan leading the group up stream from the sandbar.

The above photos were taken by Laura, one of our co-host at Beaver Creek.

This aerial view of the sandbar is on a slide show we play in the Welcome Center.

Joan with a real beaver skull, showing how their teeth continue to grow their whole life.

After the paddle, the guests are shown a real Beaver pelt.

"Oregon is known as the Beaver state.  There's a Beaver on the state flag, where's the Beaver?"

"Oregon is the only state with a 2 sided flag."

Each visitor on the tours get a commemorative button.

This year's button is picture of a river otter family take last year on a trip.

The blue line shows the path of a typical tour, starting and ending at the boat ramp just east of US 101.  The red dot (center, right) is the Welcome Center.

Coming next, Low Tide at Seal Rock.
