Snodgrass Trail, Crested Butte CO.

July 22, 2022

The trail is about 1 mile from our campsite (blue arrow). With binoculars we can see people on the trail.

Trailhead parking on the right.

The start of the trail passes through a treeless meadow...

...then winds through an Aspen forest for a little over a mile.

Suddenly it opens to this wonderful view. Crested Butte mountain on the left with the community of Mt. Crested Butte below.

Some steep uphills.

The trail is an out and back.  We turned around at the high point, avoiding the steep return trip.

More to come from Crested Butte CO.

A friend just told me that Crested Butte is the wildflower capital of Colorado, as seen on a CBS Sunday Morning segment. How were the flowers? I'm at Flaming Gorge right now and even at 10,000 ft the flowers are on their way out but it's all still wonderful of course!

Wildflowers have been wonderful. They are definitely not as pretty as they were when we got here 2 weeks ago.
